Rolling Hills CC ““ Prestigious Rolling Hills Country Club played host to the 35th Colorado Cup Matches in which the best CGA amateurs battle the top Colorado Section PGA professionals in both an Open and a Senior Division. In the Open Division (12-player teams), the professionals mounted a strong comeback to successfully defended their 2004 title, and retain the Colorado Cup for another year. The amateurs led 4.5 to 1.5 after the first day of Four-Ball competition. However, the professionals took over in the Singles matches, winning 8 – 4 and giving them an overall 9.5 – 8.5 victory. The professionals now lead the overall series 25-8-2.
In the Senior Division (12-player teams), the amateurs retained the Senior Colorado Cup with a hard fought 10.5 – 7.5 victory over the professionals. The amateurs won the Four-Ball team matches 3.5 – 2.5, and sealed the victory by winning the Singles matches 7-5. The senior amateurs now lead the overall series 14-7-2 since the Senior Colorado Cup was added in 1983.
