The Meadows GC are CWGA Club Team Champions

The 2009 CWGA Club Team Championship title was captured by The Meadows GC team of Kay Griffel, Deb Manning, Alexander Hauber and Ann Caffrey. Leading the team was The Meadows A player, 71-year-old Griffel with an 81. Behind her was Deb Manning who fired a round of 89, Alexandra Hauber who shot a 94, and Ann Caffrey who backed her team up with a 104. Combined, the team recorded two birdies to help produce a total team score of 368. This score was enough to take first place by 11 strokes over the next-nearest competitor West Woods GC. Leader Griffel indicated that it was a true team effort out on the course. Despite the fast greens, she noted the key to their success was “not to stress on every shot, to relax, and just have fun.” A true team effort it was, which is just fitting for the Club Team Champions.
