Gary and Alex Kephart of Eisenhower Golf Club won their third CGA Father/Son Championship, prevailing by two strokes Sunday at Eagle Ranch Golf Course in Eagle.
The Kepharts, who previously won in 2005 and 2007, joined Bob and Erik Heiny (1989, ’91 and ’92) as the only three-time winners of the event, which debuted in 1983.
The Kepharts, who led by one after Saturday’s first round, shot a 1-over-par 73 in Sunday’s Foursome Stroke Play to hold off defending champions Kent and Steven Moore, who closed with a 70. The winners finished with a 5-under-par 139 total.
Kelly and Kyle Crone of Highlands Ranch Golf Club claimed the net division title with rounds of 62-72 for a 134 total. Tad and Nick Willenbrock of Glenmoor Country Club (70-76–146) won the Loel and Caleb Lierman Medal for the low gross score for a team with a son 18 or under.
