Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Kim Eaton, who recently was named the CWGA’s Senior Player of the Year for the seventh time in the last eight years, this week received worldwide recognition for her 2016 performances.
Global Golf Post, a digital golf news magazine, announced its fourth annual All-Amateur teams for men and women on Monday, and Eaton was named to the women’s senior amateur first team, which includes 11 players — seven Americans and one golfer each from Spain, Canada, France and Australia.
It’s the second time Eaton has made Global Golf Post’s women’s senior amateur first team, as she also was included in 2013.
This year, Global Golf Post recognized a total of 201 players worldwide in its all-amateur teams, which are broken down into amateur, mid-amateur and senior squads for both men and women.
Eaton, the CWGA Player of the Year a record four times, advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur for the fourth time in eight years. She also claimed the senior title in the prestigious Ione D. Jones/Doherty national women’s amateur championship and won the Women’s Trans National Four-Ball title with teammate Leigh Klasse.
In statewide championships, Eaton prevailed in the CWGA Senior Match Play for the third time, earning the 22nd title of her CWGA career. And in Arizona, where Eaton now resides, the 57-year-old won not only the AWGA State Amateur Seniors Championship, but the open-age-division title in the AWGA State Amateur Stroke Play.
