Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Brandt Jobe capped a very strong season on Sunday by posting his seventh top-10 finish of the year on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.
Despite taking a double bogey on the 17th hole on Sunday — the only blemish on his final-round card — Jobe placed seventh at the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championhip in Phoenix.
Jobe was just a stroke out of the lead when he hit his tee shot on the par-4 17th into a bunker, left his approach short of the green, pitched on, then three-putted for a double bogey.
The 52-year-old, who lived in Colorado from 1970-99 before moving to Texas, carded rounds of 67-67-67 for a 12-under-par 201 total. He ended up three strokes back of winner Kevin Sutherland.
Sutherland ended up winning the season-long Charles Schwab Cup points title, while Jobe finished ninth in that competition.
In 2017, Jobe notched his first PGA Tour Champions victory and posted two top-three finishes in senior majors — second in the Senior Players Championship and third in the U.S. Senior Open.
Overall for the season, Jobe had one win, one second place, three thirds, one seventh and one eighth.
