The junior career of Aurora’s Davis Bryant is quickly winding down. College golf at Colorado State University awaits, but in the meantime he’s busy putting the finishing touches on an oustanding junior resume.
On Friday, the 2017 Junior Golf Alliance Boys Player of the Year finished 40th out of an original field of 212 in the boys 15-18 division at the IMG Academy Junior World Championships in San Diego.
Bryant shot a 3-over-par 75 in the final round at Torrey Pines’ famed South Course to post a 9-over 297 total for four days. He carded two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey on Friday, finishing 13 strokes behind champion Adam Thorp of Australia.
Bryant was the only Coloradan left competing on Friday as the younger age divisions wrapped up play on Thursday. That was when 10-year Hadley Ashton of Erie finished fifth out of 82 players in the girls 9-10 age group. (For more on that performance, CLICK HERE.)
