The Columbine Country Club team of Laurie Marvin, Kathy Good, Joan Boyle, and Irene Freund used course knowledge to their advantage to win the 2006 Club Team Championship hosted by Columbine Country Club. Team Columbine fired a team total of 373 to beat the West Woods’ team by one stroke (374). The defending Club Team Champions from Overland Golf Course placed fifth with a team score of 382.
In its third season to be run, the Club Team has gained in popularity with CWGA women’s clubs around the state. This year’s field was full with 32 teams. The CWGA will be considering viable options for the future in order to include more teams.
The format for the Club Team Championship is ABCD team stroke play. Each player’s gross score counts toward the team total.
