There are 36 holes still left, but after Friday’s third round of LPGA Q-school, former University of Colorado golfer Jenny Coleman remained in position to earn at least conditional status on the tour in 2017.
Coleman shot a 1-over-par 73 on Friday in Daytona Beach, Fla., leaving her at 1-under 215 and in a tie for 34th place.
The top 20 finishers — out of the 156-player field — after Sunday’s final round will earn full LPGA Tour cards for 2017, while the next 25 players and ties will have conditional status. After Saturday’s fourth round, the field will be cut to the top 70 players and ties.
Coleman, who finished 31st on the 2016 Symetra Tour money list, made two double bogeys on Friday, but also had six birdies to go along with three bogeys. She trails leader Nasa Hataoka of Japan by 13 strokes.

Hallberg Places 65th in Champions Q-school: The final stage of PGA Tour Champions Q-school concluded on Friday in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., and Coloradan Gary Hallberg finished 65th, which didn’t help his status for 2017.
Only the top five finishers earned fully-exempt status for 2017: Scott Parel, Phillip Price, Bobby Gage, Fran Quinn and Skip Kendall.
Hallberg recorded rounds of 81-70-73-78 for a 14-over-par 302 total. The three-time PGA Tour winner has had conditional status on the PGA Tour Champions circuit in recent years. A winner of one Champions event — in 2010 — Hallberg ended up 66th on the 2016 money list.
